I originally met Lianne & Luke at the Wedding Fair at Event City in September 2015. I got to hear about their plans for the wedding day, and with it being at the beginning on May, was hoping the cherry blossom at The Mere golf resort & spa would be in full bloom. We were all also hoping for great weather, and on the day it was perfect!
Lianne & Luke got married in a beautiful ceremony at St Mary’s church in Sandbach & after this everyone headed to the Mere for a drinks reception & photos. Although I had not worked in this church before, I attended the wedding rehearsal on the Wednesday before the wedding, so I’d had a good look around and had an opportunity to familiarise myself with it.
With the Mere Resort being a really popular and busy 18 hole golf course, accessing some areas is restrictive whilst the golfers are playing, so the perfect time for photos on the course is after the players have completed the course and are safely in the bar. A couple of hours before sunset is also the perfect time for great light, so with this in mind the plan was to head round the venue in a golf buggy after Lianne & Luke had enjoyed the wedding breakfast.
The Mere Resort looks great at any time of year, but yesterday there were lots of colourful tulips in front of the health spa area, so I got some portraits of Lianne & Luke that featured these bright pops of colour. We then headed down to the main entrance for photos, before heading over to the lake for portraits on the 18th hole. On our way back to the evening reception we swung by some cherry blossom trees to incorporate some gorgeous spring colour in to the portraits.
