Mere Court Wedding Photography – Philippa and Richards bright and sunny (but rather cold) gorgeous February wedding.
When I met Philippa at the initial consultation at Mere Court I just new her and Richard were going to be great fun to work with, but when their engagement shoot distended in to a playful snowball fight and we were all giggling like school kids I knew working with them both on their big day was gonna be ace.
Philippa and Richard had chosen to have the ceremony in their Church, St Marks in Dunham Massey. There had been so much snow around the time of the wedding that no one really knew what the weather was going to be like. It was so changeable! On the day, it was the most beautiful crisp bright February morning with a glorious blue sky. It really could not have been more perfect for that time of year.
On the day, I met Philippa at the hotel at 10am. I got some shots of the outside of the hotel first, then met her in the room for some documentary coverage and creative detail shots. The flowers had arrived early so this meant I had time to take them outside and get the venue in the backdrop. I headed off to the church to meet the guys for 12 noon. It’s handy to get some pictures of the groom and groomsmen before the guests start arriving. The ceremony was 1pm, which was perfect as the light drops earlier in February so this meant it would still be light for group shots. We got a few immediate family group just after the ceremony anyway, partly because it was gorgeous and we wanted to take advantage of the weather before it changed, and partly because the church made for a lovely colourful backdrop. When we arrived back at Mere Hotel, I shot documentary coverage for pretty much the rest of the day, apart from a couple of portrait sets and informal groups, which meant Philippa and Richard could relax with their friends and families.
