Gemma & Kingsley were planning a small, intimate wedding at uber chic Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool city centre. They were looking for some informal documentary coverage to capture all the natural moments between guests.
I hadn’t shot at Hope Street Hotel before, but went for a good look round before the wedding and loved it! Loads of natural wood texture contrasted with white space. I incorporated as much of the wood as possible, with it featuring in many of the detail shots.
Gemma’s make-up was being done by make-up artist and hair stylist Michelle Halewood, I’ve worked with Michelle loads over the last few years. Her style is really natural & she’s laid back & lovely to work with.
Throughout the day I got loads of natural, unobtrusive documentary wedding photography at Hope Street Hotel, but Gemma & Kingsley wanted some group combinations of family and friends too, so we done those before the meal, it only took 10, 15 minutes.
After the meal, I headed back outside with the couple as they’d asked for some portraits in front of the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, which is just down the street from Hope Street Hotel. I figured this would look best when the light had dropped and the lights at the front of the hall would be on & glowing more. I really love these portraits, so glad we got them!
