Country House Gardens Engagement Shoot

Claire and Paul were guests at a wedding I shot last year, so it was really lovely when Claire got in touch to ask me to shoot here wedding in October this year, but when she told me what the venue was, I was so excited I done a little happy dance in my hall. I hadn’t really heard of Arley Hall until I spotted a photo in a wedding photographer friends portfolio. The photo (taken by Zenna of Zen Photographic) showed a couple walking amongst a colourful sea of flowers. When Zenna told me about the gardens, I really wanted to shoot a wedding there, and that was before I had even seen the hall!

As Claire & Paul’s wedding at Arley Hall is in October, they wanted to have their Arley Hall engagement shoot photos showing a real summery feel, and all the colourful flowers in full bloom, so we went along on a hot sunny day in July to get some photos of both the gardens and the hall. As I hadn’t been to this wedding venue before, it was also a really good chance to have a good look around and chat through ideas for portrait and group shot locations on the wedding day.

I was simply blown away by the gardens. The word ‘stunning’ doesn’t really do them justice. You really must go and have a good wanter round and enjoy them. There was loads of lavender when we went so the colours were accompanied by the gorgeous smell of lavender, which is one of my favourite plants.
